Realistic 3D Lightning CG-18 Low-poly 3D model
cgtrader
This highly realistic Lightning 3D model seamlessly integrates with any background environment and renders at extremely fast speeds. The mesh is expertly optimized for low polycount and can be used in games without compromise. Polygons: 6415 Vertices: 6448 The Lightning geometry is designed on a real-world scale, measuring ~ 8km in height (which corresponds to the average height of Cloud to Ground Lightning), but can be scaled up or down to meet your needs. It still looks great in renders, no matter what size you choose. Scene units are measured in meters (m). This is a V-Ray version model. If you're using another renderer, you'll need to create or find your own materials for the geometry. Each branch can be easily selected by Element if you want to animate different illumination and timings per branch (like real-world lightings) for some fantastic slow-motion animations. All elements are carefully UVW Unwrapped without overlapping issues. This ensures that you have no problems using textures when needed. The current one uses Vertex Color, which can be baked into a texture if necessary. It's also embedded in the exported FBX format (can be baked in Substance Designer). Feel free to adjust the brightness of the light materials to best match your scene and camera settings. They're properly named for easy editing. The glow of the main bolt is achieved via V-Ray Lens effects Bloom + Glare, set up in the scene, but can be turned off if you prefer to add your own effects in post. Rendered on a black background, this lightning model blends seamlessly with your images when using 'Screen' or 'Lighten' mode in PhotoShop, AffinityPhoto, and similar apps. You can use the geometry as a light source by merging it into your scene. Simply adjust only the main bolt strength as it's the brightest part and has the most influence. Be sure to check out a related V-Ray rendering tip included with this product in both .jpg and .txt formats. This model can be easily imported via drag-and-drop; there are no background objects, cameras, or additional lights in the scene. It is fully compatible with 3dsMax 2010 and up versions. The model has been exported in three formats - 3DS, FBX, and OBJ (without materials). Please note that depending on your software, the exported models may not appear exactly as seen in the preview images. In some cases, you might see triangulation; manually reassigned materials and textures may be necessary. Feel free to use hashtag #lightning3d when posting online any images using this model. I'd love to see them!
