This highly realistic 3D Lightning model is carefully crafted to blend seamlessly into any background environment and render extremely fast. The mesh has been optimized for low polycount and can also be used in games. It's perfect for those who want to add an exciting lighting effect to their scenes without sacrificing performance. Polygons: 6222 Vertices: 6253 The Lightning geometry is scaled to represent the average height of Cloud to Ground Lightning, which stands at approximately 8km high. You can scale it up or down to fit your needs and it will still look fantastic in renders. Scene units are measured in meters (m). This model comes in V-Ray format, but if you're using another renderer, you'll need to create or use your own materials to make it work. Every branch of the lightning bolt is easily selectable by element, making it simple to animate different lighting effects and timing per branch. You can create slow motion animations that capture the true essence of a real-world lightning storm. The UVW unwrapping has been done carefully without any overlap, giving you flexibility in case you want to use textures on the model. The current material uses vertex color and can be baked into a texture if needed. It's embedded in the exported FBX format for easy access. Feel free to adjust the brightness of the light materials to suit your scene and camera settings. They're properly named and separated by branch size, making it easy to find and modify them. The glow of the main bolt is achieved using V-Ray Lens effects Bloom + Glare, which are set up in the scene. You can turn off these effects if you want to add your own lighting style in post-production. Rendered on a black background, the lightning model blends perfectly into your image via 'Screen' or 'Lighten' mode in PhotoShop, AffinityPhoto, or similar software. You can also use it as a light source by merging it with your scene and adjusting only the main bolt strength. To learn more about rendering tips for this product, check out the included V-Ray rendering tip (.jpg and .txt files). The model is easy to import via drag and drop, without any background objects, cameras, or additional lights in the scene. It's compatible with 3dsMax 2010 and up. Exported versions are available in 3DS, FBX, and OBJ formats, but keep in mind that the appearance may vary slightly depending on your software and hardware configuration.
