Realistic 3D Lightning CA-17 3D model
cgtrader
This lightning 3D model is expertly crafted to seamlessly blend in with any kind of background environment and renders very quickly. The mesh has been optimized for a low polycount and can also be used in games. Polygons: 14,615 Vertices: 14,683 The lightning geometry is created on a scale of the real world ~ 8km height (the average height of this type of Cloud to Ground Lightning), but can be scaled up or down to fit your needs. The model will still look great in renders. Scene units are in meters. This is a V-Ray version, and if you're using another renderer, you'll be able to use the geometry but you may need to make or use your own materials. Each branch can be easily selected individually to animate different illumination and/or timings per branch for spectacular slow-motion animations like those that happen in real life. All elements are UVW Unwrapped without overlap, making it easy to apply textures. The current texture uses Vertex Color (which can be baked to texture if needed) and is embedded in the exported FBX format too (it can be baked in Substance Designer). Feel free to adjust the brightness of the light materials to best match your scene and camera settings. They're properly named and easy to set, separated by branch size. The glow of the main bolt is created via V-Ray Lens effects Bloom + Glare (which is set up in the scene) and can be turned off if you want to add your own effects in post. Rendered on a black background, the lightning will be perfect to blend in with your image using 'Screen' or 'Lighten' mode in PhotoShop, AffinityPhoto, etc. The geometry can also be used as a light source when merged into your scene. You can adjust only the main bolt strength since it's the brightest and most influential. Be sure to check out a related V-Ray rendering tip included with this product as a .jpg and .txt file. This model can easily be imported via drag and drop - there are no background objects, cameras, or additional lights in the scene. Compatible with 3dsMax 2010 and up. Exported versions in 3DS, FBX, and OBJ formats (without materials). Keep in mind that depending on your software, the exported formats may not look exactly like they do in the preview images. In some cases, the mesh might appear triangulated and you'll need to manually reassign materials/textures.
