This authentic Lightning 3D model is meticulously crafted to blend seamlessly into any type of background environment and renders extremely quickly. The mesh is optimized for low polycount and can also be used in games. Polygons: 9692, Vertices: 9735. Lightning geometry is built on a real-world scale - ~ 8km height (the average height of Cloud to Ground Lightning), but can be scaled up or down to meet your needs and will still look excellent in renders. Scene units - meters. This is a V-Ray version. If you're using another renderer, you'll be able to use the geometry, but will have to create your own materials. Every branch can be easily selected (by Element) if you want to animate different illumination and/or timings per branch for some spectacular slow-motion animations. This is just like in real life. All elements are UVW Unwrapped without overlapping, in case you need to use textures. The current one uses Vertex Color (which can be baked to texture if needed), and it's embedded in the exported FBX format too. You can bake it in Substance Designer, etc. Feel free to adjust the brightness of the light materials to match your scene and camera settings best. They are properly named and easy to set up - separated by branch size. The glow of the main bolt is made using V-Ray Lens effects Bloom + Glare (set up in the scene) and can be turned off if you want to add your own effects later on. Rendered on a black background, the lightning will blend perfectly into your image via 'Screen' or 'Lighten' mode in PhotoShop, AffinityPhoto, etc. The geometry can also be used as a light source when merged with your scene. You can adjust only the main bolt strength, which is the brightest and most influential one. Make sure to check out a related V-Ray rendering tip included with this product - there are .jpg and .txt files available. This model can be easily imported via drag and drop - there are no background objects, cameras, or additional lights in the scene. Compatible with 3dsMax 2010 and up. Exported versions are available in 3DS, FBX, and OBJ formats (no materials). Please note that depending on your software of choice, the exported formats may not look exactly like the preview images. In some cases, the mesh might appear triangulated - you'll need to manually reassign materials/textures in this case.
