This detailed 3D Lightning model is carefully designed to smoothly blend in with any kind of background setting and renders at very fast speeds. The mesh has been optimized for low polycount making it perfect for use in games. Polygons: 6318 Vertices: 6343 The Lightning geometry was created on a scale of the real world ~ 8km height which is the average height of Cloud to Ground Lightning, but can be scaled up or down to fit your needs and will still look great in renders. Scene units - m (meters). This model comes in V-Ray version. If you're using another renderer you'll be able to use the geometry, just make/apply your own materials. Every branch can easily be selected (by Element) if you want to animate different lighting and timings per branch as it happens in real life for some stunning slow motion animations. All elements are UVW Unwrapped without any overlapping so you're free to apply textures. The current one uses Vertex Color which can be baked into texture if needed, embedded in the exported FBX format too (can be baked in Substance Designer, etc.). Feel free to adjust the brightness of the light materials to perfectly match your scene and camera settings. They are properly named and easy to set up, separated by branch size. The glow of the main bolt is made via V-Ray Lens effects Bloom + Glare (which is set up in the scene) and can be turned off if you want to add your own effects later in post-production. Rendered on black background the lightning will seamlessly blend into your image using 'Screen' or 'Lighten' mode in PhotoShop, AffinityPhoto, etc. The geometry can also be used as a light source when merged in your scene. You can simply adjust the main bolt strength as it's the brightest and most influential part. Make sure to check out a related V-Ray rendering tip included with this product in .jpg and .txt files. This model can easily be imported via drag and drop - there are no background objects, cameras, or additional lights in the scene. Compatible with 3dsMax 2010 and later versions. Exported versions available in 3DS, FBX, and OBJ formats (no materials). Please keep in mind that depending on the software you use, the exported formats may not look exactly like they do in the preview images. In some cases the mesh may appear triangulated and you might need to manually reassign materials/textures.
