Realacc X210 V+ "The Piggy" winter canopy pod
thingiverse
The snow is a crucial winter-time component of life here and I'm fed up with going home after every minor crash or inaccurate landing. Snow gets inside electronics and even plastic-coated electronics malfunction. I suspect it's because of the shortened lifespan of parts like USB connectors that aren't coated. I decided to create a canopy that will protect my build as much as possible from snow. I'm not a designer, but I have a 3D printer and can try. To ensure the canopy fits all components, I roughly modeled them in CAD and then created it. My build includes: * A Realacc X210 V+ frame * A Matek FCHUB-VTX (PDB with video transmitter and pig-tail for antenna) * A Matek F405-STD flight controller * A full-sized RunCam Swift RR camera (first edition with a GoPro lens by Rotor Riot) * A FrSky X4R-SB receiver * A microphone from Banggood * A small buzzer All of these components are covered by the canopy. The camera is tilted 30 degrees. The result looks like a little pig, and it even has a pig tail. I'm thinking about drawing a pig nose on the camera lens cap. So, I named it "The Piggy." I'm still working on fitting everything together while waiting for the next design revision with small fixes printed. I'll post real photos of my quad after that. Here are some updates: * 40 degree version with UXII/AXII antenna mount * 40 degree camera canopy version * Version for 4mm PTFE bowden tubes as RX antenna protectors Feel free to modify the design or reshape it for your components. Just don't forget to share your results here as a remix. Here are the links to Fusion 360 projects: * 30 deg: http://a360.co/2D63o3M * 40 deg: https://a360.co/2D2Uqbk
