Realacc Purple215 frame looks great but based on my experience is not practical at all.

camera is blocked by aluminum bars, on each side, cropping the picture.

you can only use 5 inch props, because anything longer hits the canopy.

Very crowded build, hard/nearly impossible to do maintenance without unsoldering.

Quadcopters recently became more about looks than serviceability.

This inspired me to redesign this from canopy style to top plate with camera mount for Runcam Micro Eagle, so that I can get unobstructed view, use 5.5" props for longer flight times and easily dismantle and service components.

Use aluminum standoffs of any length based on how tall your electronics stack is.

Also, included H-type LED and receiver mounts (RX mount for antenna tubes).

This mod does not add up to the overall weight of the quad, in fact it shaves off a few grams from original.

4/1/2018 - added lighter version

I printed parts out of PETG. I think this material is best suited for outdoor RC parts, since it's UV resistant unlike ABS which turns to powder from exessive exposure to sunlight. And of course I would not print anything for RC hobby out of PLA, it's only good indoor parts.

Please comment if you would like to change something about this design.

Have fun printing... Don't forget to like it if you find it useful.
Category: R/C Vehicles
