Reading Guide

Reading Guide

This is a step-by-step guide for kids who struggle with staying focused on words in a book. It stands 1.5 inches tall and 4 inches long, making it easy to hold onto while reading. Two slight indentations on either side make it effortless to use. Designing This Tool I set out to design a standard reading aid for kids who find reading challenging. I started by modeling a rectangular prism, then cut a slit in it large enough for 11-point font. To prevent sharp corners, I rounded them off with a fillet. Finally, I added small depressions on both sides to ensure the guide glides smoothly across pages. Project: Reading Guide Objective: Assist kids who struggle with reading. Audience: Anyone, regardless of skill level. Preparation: A basic understanding of 3D printing is required. Steps: 1. Download files 2. Load them into printing software 3. Rotate or resize the print as needed 4. Click "print"! Results: You will now have a reading guide to help you read more efficiently.
