Re-railer for N-scale flex track

This is a printable re-railer section for use with a piece of flex track in code 80 N-scale, designed for model railroading enthusiasts. All dimensions are parameterized, allowing easy adaptation to other scales by simply plugging in the correct measurements into the .scad file. My son's recent interest in model railroading prompted me to create this re-railer design. Initially, I was skeptical about a 10-year-old's patience for aligning tiny N-scale wheels on rolling stock, but I didn't want to invest in an entire new HO setup. To solve the problem, I bought some flex track and searched for compatible re-railers online. Unfortunately, hobby shops were sold out of re-railer sections, and designs on Thingiverse only offered G-scale and O-scale options - nothing in N-scale. Therefore, I decided to create my own printable re-railer section. In the end, it turns out that older eyes may need assistance with small parts more than younger ones! Here's a step-by-step guide for printing and assembling the re-railer: Post-Printing To complete the re-railer assembly, follow these steps: After printing the re-railer section: 1. Cut an appropriate length of flex track to fit your layout. 2. Remove the rails from the plastic ties (also known as sleepers in British English). 3. Measure and cut two tie sections to a suitable length for each end, allowing enough free rail space for connection to other tracks. 4. Snap the tie sections into place within the re-railer structure. 5. Thread the rails back into their respective tie sections. Refer to the accompanying photo for visual guidance; this concept is relatively simple and straightforward. To ensure secure connections, I applied cyanoacrylate adhesive between the components.
