Raleigh Charter High School Logo, Raleigh, NC USA Dual extruder print with blue and white colors Print Settings: Printer: Hictop Prusa i3 Rafts: No rafts were used Supports: No supports were added Resolution: .3mm resolution was selected Notes: The nozzles were not aligned to the correct height, resulting in a slightly warped print. However, I am confident that I can achieve a great form with this design. How I Designed This: I imported the Raleigh Charter High School logo into Cura twice, once for a dark version and once for a light version, both with no smoothing applied. The images were 0.3mm tall with a base of 0.1mm. I then exported the designs as STL files. Next, I used slic3r on my Mac to import and correct the STL files, exporting them as OBJs. From Cura, I imported the OBJ files and printed at a layer height of 0.3mm, shell width of 0.4mm, top/bottom layer thickness of 1.6mm, and an overlap of 0.05 on dual extrusion. To improve the print quality, I will preheat my heatbed to 70C and apply a weight of 10 kilograms for several hours. This process will be repeated by flipping the design over and applying the same treatment to the other side. A flat large skillet with wax paper can also be used as an alternative method, where the design is placed on top of the wax paper and then removed before it catches fire. The skillet should then be hidden due to the burnt wax residue.
