RC2014 Shield

RC2014 Shield

I Recently built a Z80 retro computer using Kits based on the RC2014 standard. While designing and building a box to go around it I found that some of my cards became a bit loose in the slots and could touch other cards beside them. In particular I have a parallel port card that has a large connector on top with lots of metal that could short the card next to it. I decided to make a simple shield that would slide over the top of the card and protect the backside solder area from and contact with the front of the next card. Just eases my mind a bit when I close it all up in a case. The one size should fit all standard cards. For the low profile ones I just cut down the shield with a pair of scissors, it is fairly thin.
