RC Wheel for Tamiya M Chassis
thingiverse
I needed some new wheels for my Tamiya [M-01](https://tamiyabase.com/chassis/59-m-01) chassis Mini Cooper. It should work with any M chassis 1:10 scale RC model from Tamiya. Original Tamiya part is [here](https://tamiyabase.com/index.php?option=com_joodb&view=article&joobase=10&id=1338&Itemid=775). This isn't an exact copy, it's my interpretation from scratch that tries to be easy enough to print with FDM while having enough strength to survive. PLA seems ok but you may want to use PETG if you think you'll be using them a lot. The blend file is included so feel free to play around with it and make your own styles. Word of advice: be careful about all the clearances on the inside of the wheel hub and the positioning of the hole for the hex nut. It took me 3 attempts to get it about right. Use support for overhang angle 80% or more. Once printed you'll have a fair bit of support to remove. Here's a quick guide... * The inner core support is easy enough to remove. Simply twist with some mole nose pliers. * On the outside middle of the hub you'll find that the large rectangular pieces remove easily by pressing them and then flicking out with a spatula or knife. * Finally you'll have two thing ring strips filling the part where the tire make contact with the wheel. Press with the shaft of a screw driver all the way around until loose. Then cut with side cutters to remove. Happy driving!
