RC Tower Crane 1.42m 56in
thingiverse
Recommended items to complete this crane are hot glue, BBQ skewers, Popsicle sticks, rubber bands, 30 minute epoxy, kite string, a small-sized hand-held drill and bits, four 360 degree rotating 9 gram servos, one receiver, transmitter, and batteries. The Boom is 4ft 8in, 1.4m long. Building this crane was quite a challenge. I started from scratch with only basic knowledge about cranes and how they work. It took me about a week to design and print everything off. Along the way, I made several design changes to make sure everything worked properly. Many parts are grouped together for convenience in printing, but individual Parts are also listed at the bottom if you prefer not to print them all. You don't need to print every single part on this list; most of them are covered in the upper section parts list. Printer: XYZprinting da Vinci mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 30% for tower and 100% for T-arms/Boom Post-printing instructions: The larger Tower sections can be easily assembled with 30 minute epoxy and the pins they are printed with. The smaller T-arm sections will not fit after printing, so you'll need to hand drill carefully to make the holes slightly larger. After that, just add in the epoxy and place it on a flat surface; let it set overnight for best results. T-arms with Servo spots need to be installed in a specific way; please refer to the pictures for guidance. There are four very small holes in the turntable top to line up the center T-arm section, which can be attached using epoxy. The counterweight is one pound and uses 30 pound kite string. When printing off the second set of slide rollers, make sure to attach the two wheels to the ends of the crane, not inside the slide roller itself. This is how you place the counterweight.
