This is an RC Rocket with Helicopter recovery system that doesn't require a parachute. I optimized its design to fit on my Skywalker 1900 drone or airplane. To build this, you'll need a small 4.5gr servo HD-1440A and two steel bars, each 1.5mm in diameter and 35mm and 29mm long. Attach a soldered nut and bolt to each bar. Make a small circle on the 35mm bar that matches the stopper parts' diameter and attach it to the servo. Solder an M3 bolt to the other end, as shown in the picture. Solder the nut to the end of the other bar. Feel free to modify or experiment with the trigger system - I've found this setup works flawlessly for me, consistently dropping the rocket without failure. To ensure a stable base, tighten the bar passing through the lock part of the rocket. If it wobbles, adjust the hole in the lock slightly up or down. The three fins in the middle should be loose, allowing them to open easily when the rocket falls. Some parts may require sanding to fit snugly together. Be sure to leave enough clearance for smooth entry into the inner circle of the "lock" part that holds the rocket.
