rc reciever box
thingiverse
TL:DR: rc receiver box - can be installed with some quality velcro - two wire-openings from which one can be closed with a little insert - antenna opening optional. LV: I switched from the Team Xray XB8E 2020 with "brick-battery" to a XB8E 2022 which has a saddle-pack-configuration ... but no longer a dedicated case or box to install the RC-receiver (RC =Radio Controlled DUH ;) ). Featuring= * Box * lid * Lid without antenna-hole * plug ... + The same but for a smaller size box + a plug with smaller dimentions I did not like the idea to install the receiver open without any (basic) protection from dust, moisture, water, mud .. so I designed one myself, quickly 3D-printed it, installed it, .. and raced my car with it the next day. It functioned just as it should. I designed it with two cable-openings, as i wanted an "intake" for the ESC- and Steering-servo-wire, ... but also a seperate one for the transponder. But as not everybody will need two openings, I also added a little plug. If no holes needed (very strange but who knows), just print two plugs/buttons and close both openings. As not everyone has a fine-tuned printer as is my [bragmode-warning] Prusa MK3S [/bragmode-warning] .. I added a slitly smaller plug/button also. If that is too loose, you might considering printing the standard plug on 98% or maybe use some sand-paper. My plug just fitted secure and nicely (.. again [bragmode-warning] ) I did print it in PETG!! as I positioned it next to the motor who sometimes gets very hot during races and PLA might not resist these temperatures. No supports needed. The lid fits tightly and is very secure. It can be closed with two m3 x 8 screws. Threading is not really nescessary but might be helpfull (I did not). Also a large and a smaller version are included, and one with an antenna-hole in the lid and one without. I use some simple but very good FUTABA-receivers which need the antenna, as can be seen in the added pictures. OFFCOURSE, this box can be used for other cars, other purposes. If you might need one in a specific dimention, just send me a message. ps: photos are from the first "outing", traing and race. The ESC-motor_... wiring has been addapted as it should, and is much less messy now.
