RC Plane

This is a cutting-edge 3D printed fuselage for a high-performance RC plane, featuring wings derived from the SkySurfer 1400mm wing span. However, you can easily swap out these wings with your own custom designs using the attached SolidWorks file. The original SkySurfer motor glider is an excellent platform, but I decided to create this model due to my aversion to pushing a propeller behind the wings - a common FPV pilot setup. Additionally, I wanted to achieve higher stability and rigidity than EPP foam fuselage can provide. As you can see from the attached video link: https://youtu.be/M5pMFo60s2s, this model performs exceptionally well, surpassing my expectations. To ensure optimal shock absorbance during potential plane crashes, the nose was printed with TPU filament. Meanwhile, the geometry still provides sufficient stiffness to securely hold the motor in place. The propeller is designed to fold, thus minimizing drag during gliding and preventing collisions with the ground during landing. The fuselage itself was printed using Nylon PA 12, a material renowned for its exceptional stiffness, lightness, and layer adhesion. To further enhance stability, I mounted a carbon fiber square hollow rod on the back of the plane. With all components in place, this RC plane weighs approximately 700g. To assemble your own version of this model, you will need: * 3D printed parts * SkySurfer 1400mm wings and stabilizers (or similar alternatives) * A high-performance motor - I used an A2212 1000kV motor, but a stronger option can be substituted * An ESC with a rating of at least 30A for 3-4S configurations * A 3S 2200mah battery * Radio and receiver systems * A folding propeller measuring 8x6 inches * Carbon fiber square hollow rod measuring 8x8x450mm * 3-4 high-quality servos Once assembled, I recommend securing the nose and fuselage with glue, in addition to their snap-on connections. Apply thermoglue to any loaded connections for added stability. The fuselage features compartments and mounting points for your electronics.
