RC Plane Split Wheel

RC Plane Split Wheel

thingiverse

This is a heavy-duty replacement wheel designed for my 80-inch Hanger 9 Piper Pawnee. It will also work with most three to four inch foam or rubber tires used in RC planes (23-25 mm inner diameter). This wheel features a stronger design with a thicker tire bead area and walls for added durability. Assembly involves using two millimeter by fifteen-millimeter screws, which creates a hidden collar design. The process begins by placing the inner wheel onto the axle, followed by the wheel retaining collar, and then the outer wheel. Next, the two wheel halves are screwed together securely. It's essential to ensure that the space between the halves is extremely clean in order for the wheel to spin freely on the axle and wheel collar. The hub cap should simply snap into place but may require a small drop of CA glue if printed with a nozzle larger than 0.2 millimeters. For optimal results, it's recommended to print this model using ABS (PLA and ASA will also work) at one hundred percent infill, a nozzle diameter of 0.2 millimeters, four or five perimeters, and four layers on both the top and bottom. Supports are required for successful printing.
