RC Plane landing gear offset/extension (for skis/floats)
thingiverse
These offsets/extensions are designed specifically for use with skis found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1223555. However, they can also be used effectively with wheels and floats as well. To attach them, simply slide the extension over the existing wheel mount, then secure it in place using a 1.5mm screw (a standard servo mount screw). Next, use a 3mm bolt to mount the ski/wheel/float. These extensions make swapping between skis and wheels quick and easy - all you need is one screw to take them on or off. I choose to leave mine permanently mounted to the skis for convenience. There are holes built-in that can be used with springs, which are required for skis. To get the best print results, use 100% infill, three perimeters, and three top and bottom layers along with supports. These settings have worked well for me using a .35mm nozzle on my Prusa I3 printer with PLA, ABS or ASA materials. After printing is complete, you may need to drill out the holes to achieve the desired fit.
