RC navigation lights (incl. f360 file)
thingiverse
I designed some navigation lights for small rc boats and ships. Dimensions: Height: 14.5mm Width: 6.5mm (without LED housing) Width2: 10.5mm (with LED housing) Length: 33.5mm You can install a 3mm LED from the top or side by fitting it into a small hole at the bottom. The leads will exit through another small hole on the bottom, allowing you to secure them with epoxy or other glue suitable for PLA. The lens is thin and easily damaged, so handle it carefully; it's also glued in place. For the navigation housing, printing supports everywhere is essential. Use low-density supports to make removal easier. I discovered that using a 0.2mm layer height produces the best results when printing the housing. Printing with 0.12 or 0.16 mm layers often resulted in broken parts when trying to remove the support material.
