RC ducted fan Skier
thingiverse
I start my week off right by sharing some useful and fun projects that have been stuck in my mind. I figure this is the perfect opportunity to post about them all and finally get them out of my system. Most are still a work in progress, but they're coming along nicely. This RC skier is designed with simplicity in mind - it's easy to print and assemble. It performs best on ice or hard snow, where its speed really shines through. However, if you try to use it on soft snow, the resistance from the skis can be too much for a ducted fan like this one. Here are all the printed parts you'll need: * 2 x stötarm.stl * 2 x arm.stl * 1 x Motormount.stl * 1 x Base2.stl * 3 x Ski.stl (or alternatively, 2 x Ski.stl and 1 x Back_ski.stl - this will give the platform a slightly lower profile in the back, making assembly a breeze) And here are all the parts you'll need to buy: * 14 x M3 10mm screws * 1 x M3 15mm screw (you can skip this one if you print one Back_ski.stl instead of just Ski.st - just add an extra 10mm screw) * 2 x 9 gram servos * 1 x Ducted fan with a 55mm outer diameter * A battery and receiver setup to power it all * Some kind of method for keeping everything secure
