RC Drift Car (Prusament Box)
prusaprinters

This is an RC drift car with a body made from a Prusament box. It uses drift wheels and a differential locker printed from the PLA in the box. The base chassis is a Tamiya TT-01E.

This was my son's idea. He loves making RC car bodies with cardboard. We recently got a Prusa i3 MK3S and used the Prusament box inside and the filament that came with it to make this upcycling project.

Body is our own design, from the Prusament box.

Wheels are not our design (Thingiverse thing 654612 from emosolo).

The differential locker is our design.

Print instructions

RC Car body: Just take a Prusament box, fold it and cut it to fit over your RC car chassis. A lot of the cuts and folds can be reused from the box already. Use tape and staples to hold it together. Should work with any RC car.

Differential locker: This is our design. Print with 0.2mm layers, with full outlines so that it is solid. Do not use infill. Works great with PLA. Use supports from bed.

Drift wheels: These are the emosolo design from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:654612. We printed out of PLA at 0.2mm layer height. Used maximum number of perimeters/shells to ensure it is 100% full no gaps. We also used PETG with success. Print rim facing down. GCode provided for MK3S was tested.
