RC Control horns VERSION 2

RC Control horns VERSION 2

thingiverse

Version 2 of my upgraded RC plane/wing control horns is now available, boasting significant improvements over its predecessor. While the previous model worked flawlessly with optimal slicer settings, a few users complained about its fragility, citing inadequate strength, despite not adjusting their settings or even knowing they could do so. I printed these new versions using PLA at 210°C, with a 40% infill rate and a crucial 4 perimeter layers setting for maximum durability. Two perimeter layers are also acceptable, but four provide added reassurance. The previous version began to show signs of wear around 10 ft pounds of stress. This upgraded design expands the riser by 0.25mm on each side (resulting in a total thickness increase of 0.5mm), thickens the reinforcement base by an additional 0.5mm, and modifies the shape of the receiving holes while reducing the size of the base. These enhancements were specifically designed to accommodate my special elevons crafted from balsa wood with tapered wings that previously required a larger base. The modifications aimed at increasing strength are intended to provide peace of mind when working with larger wings. Notably, the original version weighed less and never experienced any failures during its use.
