RC car truck body 1/12 BAE Caiman NASA MRAP style
thingiverse
This is only a body, not a whole truck! No tires, no chassis. See the YouTube build-vlog here: https://youtu.be/HP3GNAF_sBo (Not a tutorial, just 4 minutes of compressed build with some really great music...) When I printed Mr. Crankyface's fantastic V4 truck, I was searching for a suitable body. I stumbled upon BAE's mine-resistant and ambush-protected vehicle (MRAP), which is used by US armed forces in places like Afghanistan mostly. I'm not a big fan of war equipment, but NASA has adopted some of those vehicles to their purposes. The truck is used by NASA as a quick evacuation vehicle in case of emergency at the launching facility. The model body features a removable box that you can secure with common clips to the chassis. All the roof plates are designed to be placed on top so you can take them off anytime, unless you prefer to glue them in place. Since this is a scale model build, several details such as mirrors, lights, ladders, etc. are included. However, the model is not fully finished and may be continued at any time. Please don't expect it to be perfect - You will need to put some work into this project. I recommend this build for experienced users. The front doors can be opened but the rear doors are fake. A beautiful winch and some seats can be found on Thingiverse, which you'll need to adjust to your needs.
