Hi!\r\n\r\nthis is a set of suspension arms for the 1986 RC car, The Falcon from Tamiya.\r\nThis car was instrumental in shaping the childhood memories of many young boys and girls in the mid 80's and has since become a beloved classic riding atop a wave of nostalgic charm.\r\n\r\nhttps://tamiyabase.com/chassis/34-falcon\r\n\r\nHowever, the downfall of the model lies in its use of painfully brittle plastics 35 years ago, which have only deteriorated further over time. Any examples produced by the eBeast are often either nearly broken or completely shattered, leaving a hefty price tag to deal with.\r\n\r\nThis is a full set of files designed to create and replace the arms. I recreated my broken parts using basic matching geometry, taking some liberties along the way, but resulting in pieces that are close enough for casual use. The solid design ensures maximum strength. You can beef them up further if you prefer!\r\n\r\nWithout printing with advanced materials like nylon or carbon fibre, these probably won't withstand intense "bashing," but should be suitable for stock motor driving and enjoying the charming vintage RC understeer. If you want to push your RC car to its limits, I recommend checking out Ampro Engineering on Shapeways & YouTube.\r\n\r\nHe has meticulously re-engineered and strengthened parts to perfection, offering them off the shelf! These upgraded components are absolutely fantastic and provide a significant performance boost. You can buy them with confidence, knowing they've been painstakingly crafted to excel rather than hastily created in an afternoon.\r\n\r\nhttps://www.shapeways.com/shops/ampro?section=Tamiya+Falcon&s=0\r\n\r\nI found the best way to print these is by facing them upwards. This ensures optimal strength around the pivot holes and a nicer overall appearance. You'll need to ream/drill out the holes to 3mm (except for the bottom shock mounts), which I accomplished using a cheap 3mm reamer from eBay.\r\n\r\nI printed these parts with ABS at 50% infill, which has worked well so far. While I've run and jumped it off the curb without issue, your mileage may vary.\r\n\r\nThis is an ongoing project, and I'll update the files as needed. Feel free to message me with any questions!
