RC Car Shock Stand
thingiverse
Holding your RC car shocks upright after filling them with oil lets the bubbles escape before installing the shock cap, ensuring smooth shocks when in use. Designing this shock stand to hold a maximum shock diameter of 15 mm and length of 76.5 mm was key to its functionality. To assemble it, print two side plates and one each of the base bar and shock holder, laying them flat on the print bed before constructing as shown in the picture. The design allows for easy disassembly and storage in a resealable plastic bag. UPDATE 2/16/18 brings several improvements to the original design. A new shock holder plate is added to accommodate shocks with an outside diameter of less than 17 mm, specifically those with a 13 mm inner diameter. Additionally, a wider base side plate has been included to prevent the stand from being knocked over and uses less plastic when printed. Print settings include a printer brand of LulzBot, a Mini model, no rafts or supports, a resolution of 0.25 mm, and an infill percentage of 20%.
