RC Car (4WD)
thingiverse
This is my maiden design for an RC car. Every component, except two gears, was meticulously crafted by me from scratch. Those two gears, Part 001 and 004, were expertly modified from BARSPIN's exceptional designs (I highly recommend checking him out at https://www.thingiverse.com/barspin). As a novice designer, this is an ongoing work in progress, and I plan to continually update it as new challenges arise. If you have any questions or require further clarification, I'd be delighted to engage with you. Suggestions are also more than welcome. To ensure seamless printing on my 120mm^3 build platform (the size of my printer), everything has been carefully designed for optimal results. As of July 30th, 2017, the following components are required: * A 1/10 scale RC motor and ESC * A 32-pitch pinion gear with a 0.8 modification * A compact battery (your choice, but it must be small) * Two high-performance servos weighing around 8-9 grams each * A receiver/transmitter system The required hardware includes: * M3 screws (not an exact count) * Bolts measuring 16mm x60 * Bolts measuring 30mm x30 * Bolts measuring 40mm x20 * M3 nylock nuts, also in a quantity not specified precisely Unfortunately, I haven't created instructions for the build process yet; that's something I'll attend to soon. Some notable issues with this design include: * The need for shock absorbers * A requirement for steering links that can pivot more freely * Chassis supports are necessary to prevent flexing * Some parts might need to be strengthened by thickening them * Wheels, using a 12mm hex, are also required * Part 001 and 002 could potentially be merged into a single component
