RC Calibration Cube

RC Calibration Cube

cults3d

This is my calibration cube for 3D Printer tunning. Specifically designed to check accuracy on common aspects required in RC parts. Print the cube in your favorite filament and check the following things: * The cube Z dimension or height should be exactly 20.0 mm * The cube X and Y dimensions should be exactly 20.2 mm * There are two holes vertical holes on the Y face, they should measure 2.6mm and 3.6mm in diameter (adjust X/Z steps). Usually needs a balance between this dimension and the overall cube dimension. Why these are important? we usually print M3 and M4 holes for RC parts with these dimensions. If these are accurate, so will be your RC printed parts. * One big hole in the Z face, it should measure 12.3 mm in diameter (adjust Y/Z steps). Again, there should be a balance between this hole and the cube X/Y steps. * Usually, FDM printers will make holes smaller than external walls (e.g. cube dimensions are accurate, but the hole is diameter smaller compared to the model). If you see differences in the dimensions, adjust X/Y/Z steps, temperature, horizontal expansion, etc. There are many youtube videos explaining how to use a cube for printer tuning. This tube just gives more information by measuring more dimensions and also usese typical dimensions used in RC parts.
