Assemble a gearbox with one 550-size motor (brushed or brushless) and a propeller shaft. Use either the 'GearboxD' file for a 5/16"(8mm) stuffing tube or the 'Quarter-Inch' version for a 1/4" (6.4mm) one, both with their bearings and shafts. Select your preferred shaft size, along with propellers, batteries, grease, and other accessories. Print the chosen file in ABS with 3 shells, 0.3mm layer thickness, 110C bed temp, and a 5mm brim if needed to prevent lifting. Fit the stuffing tube into the gearbox, using glue or screws if necessary. Attach the driven gear to the propeller shaft and secure it with a setscrew. Add the smaller drive gear on the motor shaft and tighten its setscrew. Slide the motor into its mount and tighten two M3x8mm screws. Adjust clearance between gears using printer paper, then remove it. Place the printed cover over the gears to protect them from foreign objects. Connect the motor to your ESC or other electronics and test the gearbox safely without trapping valuable items in rotating parts.
