RC all terrain truck suspension part
thingiverse
These toys are extremely popular, incredibly fast and impressively strong, but many components are made of plastic, including a specific type of pivot that joins the rear wheel with the car's transmission. This part must withstand both immense torsion force and friction, and it can be easily broken. It was very challenging due to the precision required for millimetric sizes; when you disassemble the part, you'll understand why. Print Settings Printer: Mbot Grid Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .20 Infill: 100 Notes: This part has been tested with PLA and ABS, both with 100% infill. The PLA proved easier to form into a complete piece, but it had many superficial imperfections. The ABS produced a softer surface. For optimal results, position the model vertically with the cylindrical end facing the print plate. However, other orientations can be used, though deformations of the part may occur. Post-Printing The printed model is almost identical to the original component, but depending on the degree of contraction or expansion during printing, you might need to use tools to smooth out imperfections or drill holes to adjust the shape. The goal is to assemble the piece just right, without damaging other components. Thanks for considering my first design submission. How I Designed This The Freecad program was used to create this model.
