Updated on 8th March 2015, the Scad file has been modified for rotated output to ease printing process. The new Scad file carries a suffix 'rotated' to indicate the change. This motor mount is designed to install an oversized PARK480 electric outrunner motor in one of your RC airplanes. The SCAD file is parametric, allowing customization of all facets via variables. By default, stick length is 90mm, width is 10mm and mount plate diameter is 52 mm. The SCAD file also allows minimizing the motor mount with cut-outs around its perimeter. For quick printing, use precompiled STL files - one with a round mount plate, another with scalloped (cut-out) mount plate. To customize, download the SCAD file and edit in OpenScad. Modify variables at the top of the SCAD file as necessary, save, compile, render, then export as STL for printing. Alternatively, if default dimensions are satisfactory, download an STL file, orient the object with motor plate facing print bed and stick mount upwards. Printing instructions include 35% infill, no support required, clean prints in ABS. After printing, align motor and drill screw holes. Some motors allow wire passage through stick mount. Mount using hot glue or epoxy into RC airplane's fuselage and enjoy!
