RC AIR BOAT MOTOR COWLING
thingiverse
These are the files you'll need to print to make your very own RC air boat. An RC air boat is the cheapest thing you can do in the RC hobby because of the limited number of parts needed. You won't have a drive train with cogs or wheels that can break, making it not only cheap but also reliable and fun. To build this boat, start by getting something that floats, such as an old boogie board. Next, print out the files and click the cowling to the base. Glue on the rudder mounts, clip and bolt on the rudders. Get some wire for linking the rudders together, then bolt on a brush-less motor and attach a propeller. Plug in an ESC (speed controller), hook up a servo and radio. Finally, take your new fun machine to a body of water somewhere and test it out. I've found that it only turns at slow speeds, which is just like the real thing. To have even more fun, make two just like I did so you can race your friends or play chase. Check out the VIDEO! https://youtu.be/dBDXKUGEW9c For the build video, check out https://youtu.be/PRwtkyOrQf8 The cowling was designed to be printed flat, which means no support is needed. However, this made it not very strong, so I designed a base that clips into it. You can use this cowling part in many other configurations too! If you print two, you could use differential thrust to steer your boat, giving you twice the speed. Alternatively, put the cowling on a trolley and have a drift machine. Or, instead of using a base piece, put two cowlings back to back. This air boat is super fun, and I hope you all have as much fun with these designs as I have!
