RC 1/14 Dolly
thingiverse
Hi Everyone, I'm super excited to share my Dolly design for my RC 1/14 Truck. I spent a good amount of time designing it, and I think you'll love how it turns out. Please Note: To complete this project, you'll need the 4 x arms from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:480358, as well as 4x washers (which are already included in the print). You'll also need to purchase 2x leaf springs on eBay and grab a good portion of screws and parts from any 1/14 trailer. Check out the image for the parts list. I used a combination of 3mm screws, nuts, and hot glue to bring this project together. I've included snapshots from the Tamiya manual that show you how to assemble the pieces. Here are some important notes: * The first rail is 20CM (200mm) long, as my printer can only print that far. * You'll need to drill holes in the parts where necessary, so you can customize the layout to your liking. * On July 1st, I uploaded photos of the completed dolly before painting and assembly. Print Settings: Printer: DaVinci 1.0 3D Printer Rafts: No Supports: Yes (I only used rafts on the support piece) Custom Section How To Build: Take a 20CM (200MM) rail and attach it to a 40MM rail using two connecting plates (glue or screw - your choice). I glued mine together. Next, take two support plates and add parts from the trailer wherever you like on the railing. Don't forget to drill holes as needed. You'll also need four washers if you're using 3D printed arms (you'll need four arms in total). Add as many support parts as you can fit, then attach a rear top piece to the end of the 200MM rail. Take two 50MM rails and one support part, and screw/glue them together. Attach the 50MM piece to the end of the 200MM rail (where the top piece is). Finally, attach the connecting bar to the front (the 40MM piece) and connect the top with a connector piece between the 40MM and 200MM rails. Use the connecting light plug for your truck, and connect the hitch to the hitch board using 3mm screws.
