A 1:100 concept model for an Australian house design, made in Archicad and refined using Netfabb, was successfully printed on a Replicator 2 after some initial hiccups. It features 10% infill, 0.22mm layer height, and 3 shells for optimal results. Given the build plate size, it was necessary to print in four ground sections, addressing curling issues with larger prints. Support structures were modeled under large openings, which can be easily removed if needed. Curved roof sections were printed on their sides for better surface finish, while sections aligned holes allowed for joining using dowels. Separate printing of louvres was also done.
