RB67 Chimney ShowerCap
thingiverse
The Mamiya RB67 camera has an accessory chimney viewfinder that is really impressive! Unfortunately, I couldn't find any evidence that the viewfinder eyepiece glass came with a protective cap, so I made one quickly to prevent dust and damage. Whether they ever offered a cap for it isn't relevant now since I've designed one that fits perfectly. Something worth noting about my chimney (as shown in the picture) is that it doesn't have an eye cup like other viewfinders; it's just the glass and ring. As a result, the ShowerCap was designed with this in mind. In theory, it wouldn't be difficult to make the design taller for chimneys with eye cups, but I didn't bother since I don't have one to measure and test. If you're like me, you might wonder why the name "ShowerCap". The truth is that I started working on another variant of this cap that was larger and covered more area. However, while working on it, I came up with this smaller version that just covers the top part of the chimney and ring, much like a shower cap covers only the top part of one's head during a shower. Thus, the RB67 Chimney "ShowerCap" was born and named.
