RB2 Y Axis Anti Squeal
thingiverse
This is a solution for eliminating the belt squeal issue on the Y axis of an RB2. Since the design lacks belt tensioning, it can be challenging to get the belts aligned with the pulleys so they don't ride up and scrape against the belt guards, producing a loud squeaking noise. One possible solution involves purchasing a flanged bearing and cutting out the belt guards. This approach is also 3D printable. The tapered part (with an M3 x 14mm bolt threaded in partially) is inserted into the square open area under the bearing on the front plate of the base, while pinching the bearing post and the front panel with pliers, tapping it gently until the belt rides perfectly in the center of the bearing. For optimal results, use thermally calibrated filament to achieve a precise fit. The interlocking clip method is highly effective for calibration purposes.
