RB1 Part Cooling Duct - For Low Profile v2-1 Bearing holders
thingiverse
This highly effective Rigidbot single extruder part cooling fan duct has been modified to fit perfectly over the v2-1 low profile bearing holders found at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:430288. To achieve best results, use calibrated filament with the clip method linked below: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037301. This duct can be used on both original Rigidbots (RB1's and RBB's) and newer Reliabuild 3D printers (RB3 and RBB3). Cura settings have been scaled and oriented for printing. The duct blows across the nozzle tip parallel to the part surface, avoiding heater block temperature fluctuations. No additional hardware is required to mount the duct - simply remove one bolt and it will counter sink back into place, locking the fan mount in position. Clearance from the bed is 2 mm, with no contact made with the rails. Print Settings: Printer: Rigidbot 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 24% Notes: Turn on a brim of at least 10 lines to secure the small print portion that touches the bed in place. I turn up support material to 30% and use build plate touching. Prints complete in under 3 hours. Post-Printing: Hole cleanup is essential. To round out the hole for bolt capture, insert an M3 bolt into a drill and ream it out as shown in the picture. If using an old style stamped carriage, file off the lower edge burr produced by manufacturing. Newer milled carriages fit perfectly.
