Razorcrest Inspired Shift Knob
thingiverse
Inspired by the throttle knob from the Razorcrest, this model is designed to be tapped, so it might fit a number of vehicles. I tapped it to M12x1.25 for my '08 Subaru WRX and '09 WRX STI. If the scale somehow gets mixed up, I recommend 50mm diameter for the knob's scale. There are versions with a "stalk" and a shift boot holder, as well as ones without. Finishing is key. Start by sanding with 220 grit to smooth out any rough edges. Next, prime with filler primer to create a solid base coat. Then, sand again with 600 grit to achieve a high shine. Apply a base coat of Rust-Oleum pro-grade enamel in gloss black for a sleek finish. Use graphite to rub in a metallic sheen and follow up with a clear coat of Rust-Oleum crystal-clear enamel, making sure to clear within the recommended re-coat time. To add some flair, use Testor's model enamel in arctic or metallic blue for a pop of color. Finally, seal it all in with another clear coat of Rust-Oleum crystal-clear enamel.
