Razor Miter
thingiverse
My students consistently create high-quality projects using balsa wood, so when Xacto Knives failed to meet my expectations, I began searching for a superior alternative. Unfortunately, many websites offer similar products at exorbitant prices, which is why I was drawn to Simonarri's design, although it lacked certain features that I wanted to incorporate into mine. Since I already had some fasteners on hand, I decided to modify the design and add my own twist. While I didn't borrow any specific elements from Simonarri's project, his innovative idea and some of the dimensions served as a valuable starting point for me. My final product is a unique combination of materials and features that I'm confident will meet the needs of my students. To assemble this tool, you'll need one #8 bolt measuring 1.5 inches in length, four corresponding washers, one #8 nut, two M3 x 0.5cm screws to secure the blade, and a standard utility blade. Although it may seem like an odd mix of metric and American units, that's simply what I had available.
