Razor Holder Fashion Safety Cover

This safety cover is made for the Razor Blade Holder build found on this site. After printing that razor blade holder, I was immediately impressed with the need to make this a safer tool. I created this safety cover to do that.

With the safety cover on, it's also a useful print bed scraper. With the word Fashion embossed on the part, this is a fashionable safety cover.

A small bead was added at the back - this is the push-bead. It is for holding the cover on the handle - and matches the spacing of the thumb-indent on the Razor Blade Holder handle.

To take the cover off, hold by the handle and push at the bead towards the sharp end. This is much safer way than trying to grasp the safety cover and pull apart from the handle (there is a razor blade in there so grasp and pull creates high risk of cutting yourself. Use the push ball.

The support is not easy to get out - work at it. It's a good fit on the handle - though I did do some sanding on the handle to make it easier to slide the safety cover on and off. Do your trimming and sanding with no razor blade in the handle - you don't want to cut yourself. Once you have the fill sufficiently trimmed out, a slight push at the push ball is all you need to remove the cover.

The shell is VERY thin, and getting out the support fill took some effort. To improve the adhesion of the shell layers, the GCODE file attached here increases extruder speed to 1.1 factor, and uses solid infill.

Print instructions

Thin shell, so use solid infill (100%). Adhesion improves if you set extruder speed factor to 1.1, and do generate supports, setting the support spacing to .2 = detachable.
