Razor Blade Disposal Box
thingiverse
This box is designed to safely dispose of double-edged razor blades, making it easy to store and transport them securely. To keep the lid firmly in place, the box features adjustable tabs that fit snugly into corresponding slots, while varying blade thicknesses make it difficult for blades to fall out accidentally. When the box reaches its capacity, simply discard it and order a new one. The accompanying image may appear slightly blurry, but printing this design without rafts is recommended to ensure easy separation from the model. During my print, I noticed that using rafts made it challenging to remove them from the finished product. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.100 Infill: 10% Design Overview This design was created using OpenSCAD software, featuring two distinct boxes - one for the base and another for the lid. The blade slot itself consists of two slots with varying widths to accommodate different types of blades securely. To attach the lid, four tabs are strategically placed into corresponding holes, allowing for a sturdy connection without the need for supports. For added convenience, I used a semi-cylindrical shape for the tabs, making them easy to print without any additional support structures.
