My first creation for a friend's cosplay of the character Raven from RWBY (BirdMom) is now complete. The rifle design does not feature Dust Fins on the barrel because I struggled to create a clean print with the small spaces involved. The shafts in the edges and blade are sized for a 1/8" rod, but this may or may not slide in easily depending on the print material and conditions. My test print had plenty of room, but the final build was very tight. At least one rod is required in the blade for stability; otherwise, it becomes floppy. I didn't test printing the blade at 100% infill to see if it would improve this issue, as the blade is relatively thin. The shafts in the edges are primarily for alignment and should not be necessary for stability. The fit of the top of the blade into the sheath is extremely tight. Depending on the material and print conditions, it may fit perfectly or require some sanding to slide in smoothly.
