Ravens were revered as symbols of war within Viking culture. It was believed that Odin, the All-Father, owned these intelligent birds and relied on them to deliver vital messages from the earth. This association earned him the moniker "raven god". For a second consecutive week, our team was granted the opportunity to 3D scan a live creature on set. Scanning live objects poses significant challenges, as they constantly move out of position. However, we struck gold with the raven, which remained stationary long enough for us to capture an exceptional 3D scan. We then imported this data into a 3D computer-aided design (CAD) program and refined the digital model. Given the high level of detail required for the raven's intricate features, we decided to print it using a black photopolymer resin on our Form 2 3D printer. Watch as the 3D model comes to life!
