During sweltering summers, I place my chapstick upright so that it won't liquefy and spill everywhere. Update: Keeping it from melting only had limited success - when temperatures soared above 90 degrees Fahrenheit mid-summer, it started to leak out no matter its orientation. But it still serves as a handy holder for most of the year.
