RATZ

RATZ

RATZ are a fun print that can become quite addictive, with it being all too easy to end up with an RATZ-infested house. There are two options available: the Biting RATZ file and the RATZ file. The Biting RATZ file opens the mouth when you lift the tail, and when printed well (with three shells and a 50% infill or more), it has a good bite! The RATZ file is a static model with no moving parts, which makes it suitable for printing with two shells and an infill of 10-15%. This design doesn't require the strength needed to make it springy and strong like the Biting RATZ. At standard size, RATZ are approximately 85mm tall. They print great in PLA on Makerbot's machines, as shown in the images provided. They should also print well in PLA on most well-set-up accurate machines. However, the design uses extreme angles that may be a challenge for ABS printers. Some slicing apps and machines may find the fine tolerances and detail challenging. No support is required when printing RATZ, so leave it turned "OFF" to ensure proper functionality. This allows adequate clearance for most machines and slicing apps, but others may need a little movement to free up the parts. If you print one RATZ, you'll likely end up printing many more. The designs have been test-printed numerous times to refine them, as shown in the images provided. So, get started and infest your house, office, or car with some RATZ! Please refer to the instructions and images for additional information, and if you print some RATZ, please post images showing what they're getting up to or into. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: MakerBot * Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: No * Resolution: Standard / 0.20mm * Infill: Biting type requires three shells/50% infill to make it strong and springy Notes: Easy print in PLA on a machine with a filament fan, but there are extreme angles and fine tolerances that may be a challenge for some machines and slicing apps as well as ABS. They print really well on MakerBot's machines, as shown in the images provided. Post-Printing: Biting RATZ If you lift the tail and the mouth doesn't open immediately, try wiggling the tail and mouth gently to free them up. Adequate clearance has been allowed for most machines and slicing apps, but others may need a little movement to free these parts up.
