Rattle Popper Fishing Lure

This is a versatile popper fishing lure design that incorporates metal BBs for a distinct rattle effect. I have uploaded both the complete file and individual slices for your convenience. Printing the two sliced files with no supports has yielded excellent results so far. Please refer to the post-printing instructions for detailed guidance on assembling the fully functional lure. The assembled unit requires super glue, three small screw-style eyelets (with diameters of approximately 1.7 mm around the threads and 6.7 mm OD of the eyelet hole), two treble hooks, and a hula skirt to complete it. I will continue to update the files as I conduct further testing with this design. A version with both hooks mounted on the bottom rather than one in the tail is also in development and will be uploaded soon. If you manage to catch any impressive fish using this lure, please share pictures of your success! Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 0-5% Notes: I print with 4-5 shells for added strength and water tightness, keeping the infill low to ensure buoyancy. Post-Printing: Assemble: First, place metal BBs in the empty cavity of the lure; I use three to four but you can adjust this according to your preference. Then, using super glue, bond the two halves together, aligning the BB cavities carefully. Be cautious not to apply too much glue, which could seep into the cavity and bind the BBs together. To avoid this issue, simply stand the lure upright during the glue-setting process. Once set, prepare the eyelets by using needle nose pliers to bend them open and then closed after attaching the treble hooks. Alternatively, you can use small ringlets (similar to those found on a keychain) to secure the hooks. I have been using option one with excellent results, eliminating the need for additional hardware. Next, add a drop of super glue to the tip of each screw-end and screw them into place. One hook goes on the bottom, while the other is attached to the very end of the tail. A plain eyelet (without a hook) should be screwed into the lure's mouth for connecting a swivel. Finally, you can cut, wrap, and glue a hula skirt around the tail post. Usage: This popper fishing lure is designed specifically for catching bass but can also be effective for other predatory fish species. To use it successfully, cast the lure into shaded areas with plenty of cover near downed trees or close to shore. Avoid reeling in smoothly; instead, jerk the line backward to create a "popping" sound reminiscent of a frog.
