Ratrig Vcore3 Ball Lead Screw arms
prusaprinters

Update 12-04-2022 see below.

This mod is for using Ball screw rods instead of the wobbly original lead screws.
The ball screws used are the SFU1204 and for the Vcore3 300mm you need the 450mm version. They can be bought from this seller as they pack them very good: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005002100184823.html

Before you can use them you have to do a few things.
If you have a lathe you can trim the length without reversing the couplers but if you want to use Ye Ole Dremel then you must reverse them and put the short piece in the stepper coupler.

I prefer to use fixed couplers as you can see in one of the images as then all would stay 100% straight.

When you want to assemble them keep in mind your rails has to be moved to the inner side for the front arms and when assembling the backside first mount the arm on the wagon and add later the coupler / rod as there is one screw behind the coupler that only can be reached when the coupler is not mounted.

Print with 4 Walls, Top, Bottom with at least 30% Gyroid infill in PETG or when you have your printer enclosed ABS/ASA.

When mounting the couplers to the arms there are 6 holes for inserts but you only would need the 4 outer ones. Inserts used: Trumberg3D M4 with Diameter 6.3mm Length 8.1mm (Hole diameter is 5.6mm)

Thanks to Liam Venter (MFBS) for the original design of the arms.
His original design can be found at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5131325

Update 12-04-2022
User Silfa on Discord made a helping tool to get the rod out but keep the balls in place STL has been added. The sleeve is there to keep the balls in the nut while you remove the nut from the screw. Put the sleeve on the 8mm section of the screw, screw the nut onto the sleeve, turn around the sleeve, screw it back onto the screw

Also he provided a link to a good rebuild guide on Youtube:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/GXdt5M8ZeoE"></oembed>
