Finally, wobble rings arrive on the V-Core Pro 1.3 :) I got a lot of inspration from the design from cnccyborg, thanks a lot! The aim of wobble rings is to eliminate perimeter artifacts which are caused by horizontal movement on the leadscrew assembly. Typical reasons are skewed couplers, bent leadscrews or simply sligt misalignment of the motor monts. The steadies on top of the screws are optional. Going by the 80:20-rule, you should not need them, but they eliminate that tiny extra bit of perimeter wobble. You will need some metal parts for this. I made seperate BOMs for the main solution and for the leadscrew steadies. ** Update 7.11.21: There is an optional version of the arms that doesn't need brass inserts. They have 2.9mm holes instead, 6mm deep. So take care not to overtighten if you use these. ** Update 9.11.21: Upon user feedback, I increased the hole spacing in the arms and top ring, to make mounting of the top ring on the arms easier. Download "V4" of the top ring and the arms to get the new version. All other files are unchanged. BOM for the wobble rings: 18 round Neodymium magnets, 8mm diameter, 5mm high 48 steel pins 3mm x 10mm - they need to be from magnegitc steel (tool steel). 304 or other stainless variants won't do! 12 ball bearings 4mm diameter, also tool steel (magnetic) 3 POM or brass lead screw nuts, round, 22mm diameter 12 brass inserts M3, 4.6 OD, 4mm length (5mm OD is ok too) Again: Anything that won't stick to the magnets, won't work here! You want magnetic stuff so or your balls will go flying once you do maintenance on the printer. screws: 1x M3x10 for the rear arm (one screw used to be longer, now they are all the same) 12x M3x14 for fixing the POM nuts. This is not necessary, but I like to play it safe. You can also use one or two screws per arm instead of four. 12x M3x8 screws to bolt the top ring into the bed arms (again, 2 per arm would be enough, but I am German, bear with me :) For the steadies: 6x M3x8 screw 6x T-nut M3 for 2020 3x 608ZZ bearing (608-2RS would be premium) IMPORTANT: The polarity of the magnets is critical for convenient handling of the printer after assembly. Find a common pole by sticking magnets together. Call this "north" and make a marking on all 12 magnets. 2 magnets go in each top ring. Have the marking point upwards. The middle ring gets no magnets. The bottom ring uses 4 magnets. Have the marking point DOWNWARDS on all 4 magnets in the bottom ring. Hint for the assembly: With the current version of the rings, you can push the POM nut into the bottom ring to save Z space. The picture is old.
