Ratcheting Door Stop

This door stop fits snuggly into any sized door jam and uses a clever ratchet system to adjust to several different positions. Unlike any other door stop, the innovative design of the Ratcheting Door Stop allows to easily adjust to all shapes and sizes of doors. Many designs currently on the market are bulky and often are difficult to fit in the door. Furthermore, most door stops are only usable on the ground. This innovative design allows users to easily place the door stop anywhere in the door jam, allowing easy installation and removal without the need to bend down. This design is also small and lightweight and can be easily stored an any desk drawer. Although 3D printable, the Ratcheting Door Stop is ideally to be constructed out of stainless steel or other types of metals for ensured performance. The PLA and ABS plastics used in modern 3D printers may not be able to withstand the load of heavier doors. A small spring should also be attached to the ratchet in order to ensure the ratchet does not slip and stays in place during use. In order to use the Ratcheting Door Stop, users can either set it on the floor, or attach one arm of the door stop to either the door or the inner wall of the door jam. By attaching it to the door or the door jam itself, users will ensure stability and increase the effectiveness of the device.
