From Franz Reuleaux's "Kinematics of Machinery," published in 1876 and republished in 1963, is a double-acting ratchet-train model featured on page 462, figure 330. This is the final example in a series of models from this book: Steam Engine I Mechanism to Steam Engine VII Mechanism, Cochrane Mechanism, Payton Water Meter Mechanism, Eve's Chamber-Wheel Gear Mechanism, and more. The model was created with Solidworks 2016, rendered with Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical Edition, and edited for frames using Virtualdub before being saved as AVI/X264 and BMP. Afterward, the video was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui, Gifs were made using PhotoScape, and renders were edited in IrfanView. The 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB files are all animated and viewable on iOS and Android devices through the free Simlab Viewer app. Additionally, the model is available for use in various formats including Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 6, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, and ZIM.
