Ratchet Strap Spool Keeper
thingiverse
I designed a simple yet effective ratchet strap spool. It operates on the same principle as the standard ratchet handle, utilizing a TRON 608 ABEC 9 Bearing for added reliability. The skeleton side that I used to wind up the strap proved to be slightly too small in diameter to fit comfortably around the bearing; therefore, I resorted to securing it with hot glue. As a result, the design is fully functional and I'm thrilled with its overall outcome. Shown is a 1" wide ratchet strap, measuring 15 feet in length, crafted from nylon. Considering its size, I don't think it would be feasible to squeeze in a 20-foot strap without scaling up the spool or reworking its design. The print tolerance was sufficient enough that friction holds the spools in place, preventing them from unrolling by themselves. Below is a photograph showcasing two printed spools suspended freely in mid-air, a testament to their reliability and structural integrity.
